very arts orientated and can talk philosophically all night; don't consider myself an expert in any one field but art is art, it's what it makes you think and feel - if it doesn't move, to joy, hate or despair it's not art. even a negative reaction is a reaction; and some artists are interested in grabbing you by the balls and throwing you against the wall - my kind of art: i like to be provoked by something rather than sitting billing and cooing at the precision of the brushstrokes or the virtuosity of the violinist. make me sit up at something new and unexpected and you have me in the palm of your hand. i'm very much a post-modernist; i can find something valuable in any experience, be that artistically, emotionally or sexually. pain - of one kind or another - brings me into the moment. life is about struggle imo: if you didn't go through the crap, how would you appreciate the good times? yin and yang - need i say more...?

Movies:
favourite movie of all time must be Rules of Attraction by Brett Easton Ellis; a great concept and very visually stunning. others include Cloud Atlas (i couldn't recommend this film more) and The Illusionist for sheer genius. am a big fan of Tim Burton for his twisted sense of humour and cinematic flare. love brit com - gotta love it really - and fantasy (lycra is so under-rated)
Books:
books are my sticking point; i'm quite badly dyslexic and find it hard to focus on a page for long periods. as such i rarely sit down to a novel but texts are a different matter. love self improvement as long as i can dip in and out. this is one of my deepest disappointments and a great disadvantage as a writer which i trained to Masters level in. words i may love, but printed words most definitely do not love me.
