Barracuda8's Scoop
About me:
I do not accept blind friend requests. If you really want to be a friend then come see me, chat with me or send me a cordial message and get to know me. I would really appreciate knowing the person who calls me a friend.
I love to dance, but hate dancing alone. While it's great for the teenage girl at the school dance, it don't work for me! If you feel the same way, and are so inclined, ping me and then come join me in a happier dance. You don't have to be alone!
__________________________________________________________
Most of my friends here and in real life call me 'Cuda'. Not just because it's quicker on the keyboard here, but mainly because I own a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda which I have painstakingly restored to a joy over many years (pix in my Personal gallery). It has been a true labor of love! Cuda was a nickname given to this classic auto from the seventies and a tag I've acquired from friends and family. Will you call me Cuda?
I first came here under the encouragement of my older sister 'Ciara Ctar' who use to frequent RLC and enjoyed it immensely. She boasted how interesting and exciting this world is so I've decided to come investigate for myself. So far, it has not disappointed.
__________________________________________________________
This has always been difficult for me to write about myself (the resume cover page) as it tends to plunge me deep into a soul search for who I am and what I truly believe in. I find it more simple, accurate and genuine to see the impression and feelings I leave in others rather than risk getting it wrong in what 'I think' I've become and who I am.
Nonetheless, I'll give this a go and know I'll be back here before too long wondering if I've been honest enough with myself and with you.
Bare with me please ...
I believe myself to be a simple and outspoken guy, but have also been charged with being complex and multi-layered. I can be somewhat naive yet extreme at the same time. I thrive on my friendships and relationships and take them very seriously. I appreciate truthfulness, courage, trust, affection and subtlety. I enjoy solitude when deep in thought, affection, wonder, excitement and romance.
I can stand firm and strong but still have my emotions tearing me up inside. Some things that may seem small and trivial may trigger an emotion and I can slip off into a quiet spell. You may think I am AFK, but be patient ... I'll return.
I'm not afraid to show my loyalty, give my friendship and trust and stand up for what I believe. I am stubborn at times, but not to the point of stupidity and can laugh at myself because I know the silly flaws I have. I accept people as they are and expect them to accept me as I am. Don't ask or expect me to be someone I am not as this does not leave me enough time to be who I am!
I take my professional life as an Engineer very seriously in strong commitment. I usually pour myself totally into tasks at hand and will not accept anything less than the original goal, often elevated along the way. I challenge accepted concepts.
I hold four cornerstones sacred in a meaningful and strong relationship(friendship); Honesty, Trust, Respect and Faithfulness.
Honest and open is a way of life and not a choice depending on the moment. One of my life songs "Honesty" by Billy Joel (on my Profile playlist) says it best for me as true honesty seems so very hard to find. Trust is paramount in a friendship .... lose my trust and you've lost me as a friend. Respect is the kindling that a great relationship burns on and without it the friendship turns cold. If we are to be good friends we both need to be faithful to nurture the relationship and not turn away in time of need or support. As a friend I'll always be by your side and will not forsake you.
Separation between RLC & real life is very important to me. Ironically, I can relate RLC to one of my favorite movies "Avatar" where Jake Sully jumps between two distinct worlds. I have no desire to meet you in real life and I don't do web cams so don't ask. Most importantly I DON"T DO DRAMA. I am not a judge and am not going to take one side or the other. There is enough drama in real life and I come here to escape it so take it away from me. If it's not relevant to us and the moment, take it elsewhere please. I have to be free to chose my own path. I do need my freedom, so I will never limit yours...
Hey ... there is a real person on the other side of that monitor. Please respect that and be courteous as you would expect to be treated.
I am a person here and not just a name, and because of that I have my faults. I am not perfect and will never profess to be. " Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away". I believe that we choose our own way at any given point. We enjoy the benefits of good and right choices and we suffer the consequences of the bad or wrong choices we make. The key is to learn from both. Forgiveness is a great virtue and one hard for most to make. Forgiveness is huge for me both as the giver and the recipient and shows true caring in a strong relationship ..... within reason. A heart can only be fractured so much before it breaks.
I've been accused of a multi-layered sense of humor that sometimes gets me in trouble. Bit of a sarcastic sense of humor at times, but never mean. I love to laugh and banter about as laughter, like love, is universally shared and understood.
