NOSFERATU COVEN HISTORY
The year was 1549, a band of Gypsies had spent a hard winter travelling around Europe, searching for a place to settle and sell their wares; distrusted by many and cast aside by society. The group of travellers were low on food and supplies, their strength ebbing away as they struggled to survive. The band of misfits trudged their way around the deepest, darkest, coldest parts of Europe not knowing where their next meal would come from. Despite being cast away from society, they were a close knit family, their loyalty and dedication to each other knew no bounds.
Their leaders watched in despair as each family member faded almost to death until just those 3 remained standing, watching over their loved ones, their hearts gripped with coldness and sadness at the thought of their heritage dying.
Finally this dying family found itself tucked into the northern coldest parts of Romania; a deserted area where no man or beast lived, or so it seemed. The three leaders gathered themselves around an open fire on that first night having tended to their sick and dying family. They talked long into the night, the coldness seeping into their bones. They called upon every spirit known to mankind and were ignored by all. As they sat huddled in despair, they each felt a presence as if death itself had sat with them. Gradually a figure appeared sitting amongst them; he seemed to have the form of a man with a high-domed, bald head with large, bright veins. His face was long and thin with deep creases and sunken eyes. His ears were large and pointy and the nose was upturned. The creatures fingers were long and tapered with an extra joint; the fingernails sharp and discolored and his back was hunched. The trio felt no fear as they gazed upon this man; they felt finally at peace as he spoke. He introduced himself as Homo Wampyrus Nosferatu; a deformed vampire. His presence held no danger to the three who sat before him; he was their saviour.
That night, the three leaders were infected by the virus carried in the Nosferatu veins; they were transformed into Nosferatu Vampires; the virus spreading though their immune systems mutating each and every minute until these three were also possessed of the Nosferatu bloodline and traits.
The Nosferatu are hideously disfigured vampires and can experience extreme pain when they straighten up, they are mostly anti-social with humans and other vampires. The Nosferatu vampire is moderately sensitive to sunlight, and can actually tolerate a few hours on a dull day. This vampire generally consumes its blood from sleeping humans, children, and farm animals.
The gifts passed on that night to the three leaders were animalism, potence and obfuscate as the disciplines of the blood. Animalism gave them the ability to speak to and control animals, obfuscate allowed them to change the way they look or to appear to be invisible and potence gave them super strength and remarkable healing powers.
As their gifts grew stronger and their strength returned hundredfold, the stranger left their midst having given the three new names and new 'lives' and the three leaders passed the virus to their children. Their children grew stronger and passed on the virus to their own kin as well until finally the entire family was reborn as the Nosferatu Coven.
The three leaders now known as Elder Dea Drusilla, Elder Deus Vlad and Elder Dea Aquila, regarded as Gods and Godesses by their kin and Sire, esteemed as Elders by those around them, loved and respected by many, continue to rule their clan with love and honour, bestowing the gifts of the Nosferatu on those who are deemed worthy.

A New Path
For a while now, I have been feeling .... unhappy, perturbed, confused... so many things about this family, the drama that happens, the disrespect sometimes shown, the arguing I have seen. Yet there are times when I have felt that inner peace, the warmth, the unity... when we have been together at the church as one, when we party, at sirings. It has left me questioning what I want, what has gone right, what has gone wrong. I am Nosferatu, that is my bloodline and it is mine and it is pure. I will NEVER give that up.
However, it is time for me to take a detour from this journey. I will be starting a new tag - NK - Nosferatu Kindred. This tag will be a part of the Nosferatu Coven, we will still hang out, have parties together and have sirings together and share many of the same values but NK will be independent with it's own rules and protocols. It will be a Combat Role Playing family. We will all still be related. There are no denouncements. I am not leaving the family, merely starting a new branch of it. There are some within NC who will follow me. Please do not see this as treacherous, they are not disloyal to the Coven. I do not want more than 10 - 14 to follow me. I am sorry if this hurts people here but I need to be happy and to have fun again. I am doing this completely selfishly for myself. I will still be Momma, Gma, Sister, Aunty. You can still PM me.
Today I hand the NC over to Cindy, Gene and Kika. I promote them all to Elders. I know you will look after this family and I am confident it will not suffer with my departure.

What are Nosferatu?
The Nosferatu are a decidedly lustful species, said in local folklore to be the illegitimate child of illegitimate parents. Shortly after its burial, the creature stirs, leaves its grave, and not only sucks blood but also engages in sexual contact with the living.
According to some beliefs, the male is thought to be able to impregnate women whose children are destined to become moroii. Nosferatu are generally organized into broods; communities centrally located around a sewer system and serving as underground cities which may house dozens of their kind. Nosferatu are stereotyped as ugly on the outside, humane on the inside - this is not entirely true. There are many Nosferatu who never leave the sewers; the Nosferatu make a habit of sending their friendliest to communicate with the rest of the Camarilla.
Nosferatu strongly stress clan loyalty over almost everything else. Given their hideous appearance, they depend heavily on clan support structures for everything from havens to food. Broods are generally gerontocratic, with the eldest Nosferatu setting policy and guiding the youngest.
Most Nosferatu can acquire jobs within their clan, including assisting on construction or other survival projects. Most Nosferatu are inculcated with a survivalist mentality and increasing the strength of their havens is a constant preoccupation.
The Nosferatu tend to embrace two classes of people: first are those for whom the Embrace is a step up, such as the homeless, vagrants or other people at the bottom of the totem pole. The second class are those for whom the Embrace is a long step down, such as beauty queens. Nosferatu are notorious for revenge embraces, and the resulting Cleopatras often lead miserable lives within the clan.

Vampire Morals
Our morals are not the same as the humans. We aren't humans after all, we are Vampire. And yes there is a difference. Humans perceive themselves to be the top of the food chain and as such they feel that everything else should mimic them. Merely because we share similar bodies doesn't mean our behaviors, thoughts, feelings, codes of conduct, etc will be the same as theirs. So what then are Vampire morals? For many of us they are second nature, but for some of us, especially those still experiencing the Awakening and those that have been Turned, they simply aren't and therefore must be learned.
Some have a difficult time overcoming their learned human morals because they have been practicing them so long. But like the Awakening, all it takes is time and practice. Below we have taken the time to list most of the morals that should be held by any True Vampire.
- We are predatory in nature. We take what we need, sometimes to the detriment of others. Though we may appear similar with our prey, it is the spirit or soul that sets us apart.
- We have no qualms about harming someone/something, especially when it comes to feeding our thirst or defending ourselves.
- We feel no guilt when we feed because we are predators.
- Stupidity and weakness are not tolerated, especially within our own kind. When examples of such do exist within our own ranks we will eliminate them by whatever means necessary.
- Loyalty is very important and taken very seriously. Those that are disloyal are also eliminated by whatever means necessary.
- Respect must be shown to those that are: older, higher ranking, more powerful, more knowledgeable than yourself.
- We Vampire in nature are heartless to those that offend or annoy us.
- Our emotions and feelings are usually kept hidden from those around us. Only the most sensitive individuals can detect our moods when we chose to hide them.
- We are loners by nature and when we do choose to be around others, enjoy the company of a select few. (This for the most part applies to Royals, though other ranks experience this as well, though not as often.)
- We view everyone in the Community as family members and treat them as such.
- Rape, abuse, etc of children is forbidden. Killing children is forbidden. Rape in any form is also forbidden. Violating any of these is punishable by a painful and excruciating death.
- To judge someone is to be judged. We do make judgments of others but that is reserved for when individuals make absolute fools of themselves.
- Adultery. This is different from clan to clan. To some clans it matters not as sex is no big thing to a Vampire. Some take it very seriously, seeing it as a violation of loyalty, making it an unforgivable transgression.
- Sex. Can play a big part in some Covens, some vampires practise in BDSM and also have slaves and pets who are kept to feed from. Vampires are related through blood not DNA so sex between 'family members' is acceptable.
- Generally as a rule we don't discriminate. There are exceptions of course, such as humans, specifically the stupid individuals, and there are certain clans that loathe each other greatly. Race plays no part in discrimination.
